Surface Design
Content
Develop the
knowledge, technical and creative skills required for entry into
professional practice in this rapidly changing field of design.
The course provides specialist studies in surface design for textiles,
ceramic tiles, 3D surfaces, fashion and sports wear, experimental
print, computer-aided design, screen and digital printing, drawing
and photography. These are supported by core studies and electives
that create opportunities for you to share ideas and practice with
students from other related courses within LCP. Personal and professional
studies support your developing career focus, assisting you with
work placement and the planning of your dissertation or design journal.
Acquire an understanding
of line and colour in the development of surface pattern design
with technical workshops. Expand your design and production vocabulary
with project work in aspects of ceramic decoration, furnishing,
fashion textiles and paper products.
Assessment
Practical project
work and written course work assignments, professional and personal
development.
Suitability/Prerequisites
For entry to
Year One, you must have completed at least one year of a BFA degree,
GPA 3.0 or higher. For entry to year 2 you must have completed at
least two years of a BFA degree. Location Elephant & Castle campus,
