Content

Your studies will include contemporary design thinking, design methodologies, visual and verbal language, sociology and culture, marketing, origination and production. You will develop skills in visual research, typography, computing, photography and printmaking.

You will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the basic concepts of graphic design. You will investigate and explore the language of graphic design, typo/graphic history, modernism and technology.

You will focus on the relationship between graphic design and the representation of identity.Project work investigates the roles of graphic design in determining, representing, and challenging identity.

Assessment

You are assessed on course work, workshops, essays, contextual studies and personal/professional development.

Suitability/Prerequisites

For entry to Year One you must have a portfolio of work and completed at least one year of a BFA degree, GPA 3.0 or higher. For entry to Year Two, you must have a good portfolio of work completed during at least two or three years of a BFA degree focusing on Graphic Design.
