BA (Honours) Visual Merchandising Management

Visual merchandising management is a new design discipline which has been developed to create and manage overall visual presentation of the retail environment. It combines and integrates an understanding of merchandise presentation, display and retail design and will appeal to creatively minded students. Course content includes: spatial and interior design; merchandise layout and presentation; and contextual studies, with core studies of the consumer and retail environment.

Students share a common first year with the retail design management degree. Initially
studies introduce design theory and practise to explore and analyze spatial
environments, which is then applied to the planning and layout of retail interior
environments. The core modules introduce the theories of consumerism and the
dynamics of the retail environment, including e-commerce.
