BA (Honours) Marketing
and Advertising
This
is one of the few full-time degrees focusing on marketing and advertising
in the UK. It is specifically designed to provide a comprehensive understanding
of the industry.
Course Content
This
is a three-year course and Study Abroad students are accepted for either
year 1 or 2. Students need to select one of two routes: a marketing route
covering applied market research and global marketing information; or an
advertising route covering international advertising and global media organizations.
Year 1
Students
will be given the theoretical and analytical framework necessary for further
study and develop marketing and advertising skills. Syllabus areas include
marketing and advertising theory, design and practice, analysis of the
competitive environment, communication theory, information sources, and
buyer behavior.
Year 2
Students
will apply the theoretical framework to the functional activities of marketing
and advertising. Syllabus areas include marketing management, media planning,
design and practice, information for marketing, human resources management,
and managing integrated communications.
Assessment
Students
are assessed on coursework, projects, a dissertation, and exams. Each full
year earns 120 London Institute credits.
Prerequisites
For
entry to Year 1, students must have completed at least one year and be
in good standing at an accredited university with GPA 3.0 or higher. For
entry to Year 2, students must have completed at least one year and be
in good standing at an accredited university with GPA 3.0 or higher. Students
must be enrolled and have done courses in a Marketing or Advertising major.
