BA (Honours) Graphic and Media Design

This is a new and comprehensive program offering three interrelated study options: typo/graphic design, illustration and information design. Students attending this course will gain an excellent understanding of all areas of graphic design while building specialized knowledge of a chosen area of study.

The program has three primary elements. In Main Studies, students will explore the making and meaning of graphic messages within their chosen field. Common Studies establishes the central academic discourse. Cultural and Historical Studies provides students with an insight into the history, theory, and critical debate related to their area of study.

Through workshops, lectures, and discussion you will explore the making and meaning of graphic messages, looking at the problems of communicating information, ideas, and arguments through the synthesis of words and images. Integrated practical and theoretical work and critical discussion will give you confidence to find your creative 'center of balance' and make innovative connections between the areas of study.
