Credit and Credit Transfer

The London Institute has been given degree-awarding powers under UK government legislation. All of its courses are externally and internally validated and are subject to scrutiny through the London Institute's Quality Assurance procedure. The London Institute's courses are funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and scrutinized by the Quality Assurance Agency both of which are UK government bodies.

For London Institute Semester Study Abroad Program students attending BA (Hons) courses All London Institute degree courses earn 120 credits per year with each term earning approximately 40 credits. Each credit represents 10 notional learning hours and 360 credits are required for a BA (Honours) degree, 200 at HE
level 2 or above and a minimum of 100 at HE level 1. Your work will be assessed while you are at the London Institute, but the actual work assessed will depend on the course you are following. You will take your assessments and work home with
you and a transcript of the credits earned. Before you apply for the London Institute Semester Study Abroad Program, you should ensure that credits you earn at the London Institute are transferable to your home institution. If you require a copy of the relevant Course Handbook or details of the Credit Framework
please request it from the College concerned.
