Proof Reading

Aims

You will gain an understanding of the role of the proof reader in the production process of a publication through a combination of theory and exercises. You will also receive a comprehensive introduction to the skills and techniques necessary for proof reading work. The emphasis is on spotting and correcting errors and marking these with the appropriate BSI symbols. By the end of the course you should be able to use proof readers' marks, understand the terms used and feel confident in your ability.

Suitability

If you are a journalist, a press officer, or are involved with the production of printed material and you need to read copy accurately and thoroughly in your professional life.
